The Sensitives

Drew Xanthopoulos’ beautifully cinematic documentary explores the sad and sometimes strange story of people with extreme enviromental sensitivies to everyday compounds like fragrances and fertilizers, and to invisible presences like electricity and cell phones.

It is easy to laugh and dismiss people who claim to be environmentally ill, but this documentary takes an honest and compassionate look at their struggles. Neither endorsing nor debunking their sensitivities, Xanthopoulos beautifully reveals the very human frailty of our brothers and sisters, as their lives are given over to illness.

The Sensitives received a great review in the Hollywood Reporter in which the film is said to, “put a very human face on a condition too easily ridiculed or disbelieved.”
